Hi, to everyone,
I am leaving China with little worry that I can't cycle much. Seeing opening ceromany of the Olympic on 08.08.08 did't worry me much. Very sad to say， I only cycle about 700。Anyway I had some good memories.
I am taking train to Kunming from beijing on 7th.8.08 at 4.50pm. Before that I have to go to the visa office 9.00am to collect my visa and Passport. I hope to reach in Kunming on 9.00am and take a bus to Meng La 6.30pm the same day. On the 10th.8.08 at 9.00am the bus will arrived in Meng La. I have to cross the China border Mohan before 4.30pm the same day to Botem Laos Border. I am rushing and takeing the risk. If I am not in time I will be fine 500ymb.

Chongqing is big city. People are work all night. I met a few people at night they are friendly too.
I have cycle country like Indian, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. I can see the differences with them. Most of this countries people are friendly and helpful too but they are expecting some money or tips from me. But in China nobody want to aspect money or tips from me.Chongqing city at night.

I reach in Chongqing at 4.00pm. The town is beautiful and very busy. I stay in a nice hotel near the Railway station, I paid 70Rm. I stay this hotel because the next I have to take a train to Xi'an to extent my visa.This is the express bus station in Chongqing.

In train I met a Chinese school teacher and her son, they both can write English but they fine hard to speak out. Any way we still can understand what we are talking. Here they, say small school for primary school, middle school for secondary school and high school is the same.Baby girl eating rosted duck leg.She is saying you want this baby you can take her.The Railway staff walking home after a duty. This little girl knows what is peace.The school teacher is very kind to the people on the train. On the train people ask me many question in Chinese she answers all the question. They like to know which country I am from. Some of them are interested in my black skin. The like to have black skin and ask me how to be black. I told them go to Africa. 4 in 1 !!! I am taking train to to Chongqing I have on time to cycle. If I cycle 8 days my visa will expire.The railway staff are very helpful, they ask me to sit in thier rest room, they bought buy ticket for me and gave me nodldes to eat and carry my bags to the train. Why are they doing this things for me? This family is running a hotel and restoran in Fuyuan.Backpacker from China. Its very normal for chinses people to carry things on thier back. In India it normal for people to carry thing on their head.Taxi in Fuyaun.

I was enjoying cycling on Highway to Fuyuan. Good sign in English and kilometers. Suddenly a police car come and stop me. They said I must use the old road, They help me to carry the bike over the old road. The roads are on repair. I can only cycle 8km per hrs. I start form Qujing at 7.30 am and reach in Fuyuan at 6.00pm.They are also repairing railway tracts too.

I was resting at a play ground. Many people come and talk to me in Chinese I told them no! no! Chinese please, but they still keep on talking.They are not rich but you can see their smiling face all the time.

Qujing is a small town there is not internet. I cycle 85km from Song Ming.This picture was taken before the police stop me at the highway. They ask me to use the old road, It is some where around Zhanyi.

Mountains and mountains just like Laos. I have to push many time before I reach Song Ming.This small girl is removing the skin of the fruit for me to eat.

Wake up 6.30, it was raining lightly. I can't wait start Cycling in the rain. Woo!! It's very hard to get out of Kunming city. I have to ask many people how to go to Song Ming. Some said can't with bike some say can. I went near to the the High Way and the sign says no bicycle. I pretented not to know. I cycle the highway and the police man saw me but did not say anything. Its 60 km, can't do more, there are long hill all the way.

The reach Namtha at 2.30pm. I have to take one more to Boten son I can cross the border to China. The bus reach Boten and the immigration is close. I have no choice but stay a night in Boten. I met a Japanese lady Backpack in Boten. She have same problem as me. We stay in the same Guest House.This little girl is the GS owners child.Night I had good dinner with the Japanese BP.

On the 7th July 2008 at 2.00pm I arrive in Penang. I apply visa in Penang. Now visa is available only 15 days, and I have to pay Rm200 for fast service. The agency told me I can get it on 10.7.08 at 2.00pm. I will take bus to Padang Besar from Butterworth on 11.7.08, Padang Besar to Bangkok on 12.7.08, Bangkok to Chiang Rai on 13.7.08, Chiang Rai to Chiang Khong 14.7.08, Houei Xai, Laos to Boten 15.7.08 and the same day to China Border. Most probably I will start cycling in Yunam, China on the 16.7.08.Seeing the friendly in Padang Besar again before taking a train to Bangkok.
